WHO WE ARE

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) was founded on February 12, 1909, in New York NY. It was founded by  W. E. B. Du Bois, Ida B. Wells, Mary Church Terrell, Mary White Ovington, William English Walling, Henry Moskowitz, Archibald Grimké, Lillian Wald, Emil G. Hirsch, Charles Edward Russell, Oswald Garrison Villard, & Stephen Samuel Wise. The NAACP is an organization that was created to work to end segregation and discrimination in housing, employment, voting, & transportation to oppose racism and to stop African Maicans from thair freedom constitutional rights as equal Americans.
